Manny Pacquiao, the pride of the Philippines!

A week ago was my birthday, but i was working then so i decided to plan a small thanksgiving dinner for the next weekend which was yesterday, november 14,2009. This event is actually a triple celebration for my birthday, my husband’s birthday, and my first year of stay here in canada. So, i invited friends over for dinner, and for the last week me and my husband were busy preparing our menu, going to the market for groceries and cooking our native Filipino dishes.

To my surprise, not all of my friends came, because of i think what they thought was  a more special event that happened last night, and it was the most awaited fight of Manny Pacquiao against puerto rican, Miguel Cotto. We were trying our best to search for a live streaming online, because our cable was not pay per view able. But before i proceed with the game, i was thinking, was  the game really more important than the get together that i planned? Well, i just do not want to dwell on my sentiments, they have their choice , i have mine. I just want to be thankful for my few friends who were able to come and spent time with us. Thank God they’ve enjoyed the dinner. And take outs too. In fairness with my other friends who have an acceptable excuse, i know they’d like to come, however, some unavoidable circumstances took place. In, summary, i enjoyed our night, i’m thankful for my friends who were around. And i too,am thankful that once again Manny Pacquiao did an amazing job, giving the Filipinos the pride that we are thirsty for.
